Ed Marshall

Ed Marshall was born in Durban South Africa, the oldest of four brothers. After leaving school Ed trained and flew as a pilot in the South African Air Force for six years. He was converted at 21 yrs of age and soon thereafter sensed God’s call to vocational ministry. Upon leaving the SAAF he completed four years of seminary training and entered pastoral ministry in 1976. He came to Australia in 1998 and has been the pastor at Moore Park since 2003. His ministry focusses on prayer, preaching, evangelism and pastoral care. His personal life goal is to win 100 men to Christ and disciple them into fully committed followers of Jesus. Ed is married to Jennifer and they have two sons and a daughter. His hobbies are fishing, swimming and DIY around the house.

Jennifer is an MK (missionary kid) who grew up in Zambia (Central Africa) where her parents were missionaries on a remote mission station. Jenny is a registered nurse and currently works in aged care. Her hobbies are gardening and scrap-booking.

Dav Ross

Associate Pastor Dave Ross (DavRos) is married to Madeline and together they are raising three children. As a family they are into camping and trail bike riding. Prior to entering pastoral ministry in January 2002, he served for 20 years in the Royal Australia Air Force (RAAF) as a Radio Technician.

DavRos joined the team at MPBC in January of 2006 after completing his BMin studies at Malyon College (Qld). He is currently responsible for shepherding the 6pm congregation. In addition to this primary role, Dav advocates for school aged and high school graduate young adults attending MPBC up to age 25.

Dav is passionate about the idea of Christians “doing authentic life together” in relationship based cell groups, where the four critical elements of Christian existence (Upwards, Inwards, Outwards, Forwards) are best able to flourish in an intentionally balanced way.

Sam Barlett

Sam Bartlett was born in New Zealand in 1979. His parents always valued people and Sam grew up in a family that loved to be around other people. Sam went to Christian Heritage College when he was 19 years old and met and married his wife Christine Bartlett a year later. Sam and Christine have been married for 10 years and have 3 beautiful children.

Sam is caring for the 10am service, whilst also studying Theology at Malyon College. Sam and Christine love the idea of supporting young families to establish solid relationships with God and other families.

Our Vision

Moore Park Baptist Church is committed to following where the Lord Jesus leads us. We believe that He has told us to prepare for the decades ahead by transforming the local church from the traditional activity based and program driven model, to one where relationships are paramount.

To achieve this we are moving steadily towards the place where cell groups are the central and single most important unit in the life of the church after the nuclear family. Everyone attending Moore Park is in a cell group. Not everyone can attend a cell group, and those who do not, are cared for by trained and supervised “Lay Pastors” connected to a cell.

We train our cell members in evangelism using the new material developed by Evangelism Explosion in Australia called “XEE”. It is strongly geared to relationship evangelism and is proving to be exactly what we need.

Moore Park has experienced healthy growth in the past five years. To accommodate the growing church in our 125-seater building, we have opted to create three semi-autonomous congregations. Each congregation has its own pastor and two elders. The deacons are the ministry leaders and serve the church across all three congregations.
